Threw this together really quick. Not completely happy with it but I do like the buttons (which are buttons I actually own and scanned in and messed with).
I am super super super excited to open for Clem Snide. Great band. good good good.

more stuff
I finished my lamp two days ago. It turned out pretty dang cool. I will put some photos up later today. I also finished Ashley's flyer for her art show at Moshi Moshi in Portland for the month of April
Also finished this
Projects coming up- album artwork for my illustration class, which just so turns out to be perfect timing because I just got commissioned to do The Very Most's Summer EP. I guess Indiecater Records saw my previous work for The Very Most and wanted me to do more. woot.
Poster for a benefit show coming up in may- details coming soon. Poster for a house show in April- that is coming soon. My dad commissioned me to do a poster for an event called Mustache Ride-- the event isn't happening till next year, but he needs an image for it to pitch it and get funding for it.
that's all folks.

6 posters in 2009!
I went back to see what posters I hadn't gotten around to uploading onto gigposters.com and found 6! I realized I have made 6 posters so far, in 2009. And I have 2 more coming up! I have also done a shirt design, album artwork, a button design, screen printed, painted a lamp, and made around 5+ other things.
.... I am not including the school work I have had, which is as follows: 5 paintings for human presence painting, 2 assignments for illustration, 3 illustrations for the arbiter, countless reading and writing for seminar.
below are the posters. Oldest to newest

nude sketches
We are starting painting number 3 and 4 in my figure painting class. By tomorrow I have to have 6 sketches prepared for 2 paintings we will be working on at the same time. I really love the idea of having one of my characters in the painting, or both, but represented realistically and three-dimensionally. I also want to work with the idea of these characters being in the back of the mind of the people in the painting- he is there but they are ignoring him. I think he could represent a lot, depending on what else is going on in the painting.
one of the sketches got completely muddied up in my scanner- sorry.

Split EP artwork
I am not going to post this with the song titles and band names as to not spoil a surprise. But a Boise band and Kennewick band are putting out a split ep together and this is the album artwork.
Pretty eye catching, I think. I like my tree illustration a lot because it is an actual painting, and not something I created on the computer.
A lot of these pieces in my blog are for sale if anyone is interested. Just email me @ julia.b.green@gmail.com

Rats with teddy bears!!!
I posted an amazingly cute photo a bit ago of a rat sleeping with a teddy bear. Then Colleen sent me a photo of another rat with a teddy. So I decided to google "rats with teddy bears" to see what I got. I found out who the rat is in the first photo! It is a rat named Bug, that a girl owns and likes to take really amazing photos of. You can even buy some of the photos! I might do it.
I also now want a pet rat. Seriously.... just wait and see.
you can see Bug the Rat here.

Hillfolk Noir poster (wip)
Here is a little peek at what I am working at for Hillfolk Noir's tour poster. I've been having a lot of fun with this one. I scanned all of the textures and drawings.
I also scored a giant piece of cardboard from work. It wouldn't even fit in my trunk of my car. I think it is atleast 4ft across. I can't wait to see what I do with it over the summer.
